With any luck, this issue will represent the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one for the American Journal of Audiology. Subsequent to a member survey, ASHA’s Executive Board has approved a request from the Publications Board to begin publishing AJA on the ASHA Web site (www.asha.org). This is truly an exciting opportunity for AJA to become the first audiology journal to go “on-line,” and it will benefit authors and readers in many ways.
While the rigorous review process will remain unchanged, articles will be published on the Internet as soon as possible after acceptance, minimizing the acceptance-to-print delay inherent in a three-issue-per-year journal. All current articles will be searchable by author, title, abstract, key words, and full text. Using Adobe Acrobat, PDF (Portable Document Format) pages can be easily downloaded and printed in journal page format—articles printed in this format look identical to those in the print publication.
