After reading the article by Oyler and St. Clair on masking level differences (MLD) in normals using a Grason-Stadler GSI-10 audiometer, I thought that the deduced MLD values reported in the article required clarification. The values seem to be inferred from a bar graph presented in my article (Arehole, 1995). The intent of my article was to compare MLDs obtained using two different types of noise, and a bar graph was an effective way of showing the difference. In addition to clarifying MLD values, I would like to address how the two studies differed in regard to the ages of the subjects.
